MSP: One arrested, one seriously injured after stabbing

A 20-year-old man was arrested after Michigan State Police troopers said he assaulting an 80-year-old man, stabbing him in the neck.

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A man was arrested after investigators said he stabbed another man in the neck.

Michigan State Police troopers responded to a 911 call in Richmond Township around 6:51 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to investigators, the caller reported finding a male on their property behaving erratically.

Once troopers arrived on scene they were able to detain a 20-year-old, who witnesses said assaulted an elderly man.

Family and neighbors of the victim said he is 78 years old.

The victim suffered serious trauma to his face as well as a stab wound in his neck.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect as the assailant in the incident.

He is being lodged at the Osceola County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Both the names of the suspect and the victim are being withheld pending further investigation and arraignment.
