Man plans to visit every National Park in US to honor his late father
Documenting every single trip, Mikah Meyer is a year and a half in to a three year journey.
His plan: to visit all 417 National Park Service Sites.
It's a trip he started to honor his father.
"He passed away when he was 58 and he didn't get to retire," Mikah said, "and it taught me a life lesson."
So Mikah quit his job, packed his things and hit the road to explore America.
Everything he owns is in his new house... his van
Mikah says ts a good reminder to him that he doesn't need as much as he may think.
Mikah is funded entirely by personal donations.
And while it looks great in pictures... this trip isn't always easy.
"There have been many times where I almost quit," Mikah said, "because the finances and the loneliness...or just its really tough living in a van."
Micah is gay, and told us he lost financial sponsors because of his sexuality - making it even harder for him to fund the journey.
Now he's on another journey - using his faith to spread acceptance. It's a mission he says has been well received.
So his trip continues...at least for another year.
Above all else...Mikah says he will be thinking of his father the whole time.
"This was something I needed to do not only for me but for him," he said.
