    Winter Weather Alerts

Snowfall is forecast to start moving into Mid-Michigan from the south during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Accumulation will occur throughout the Tuesday morning commute, but we will likely see some drop off in snowfall during the early and mid-afternoon before snow picks up for the evening hours.

There is a risk of freezing rain during the late morning and early afternoon for the I-69 Corridor and the Thumb region; drivers should anticipate worsening road conditions in these regions.

    Accumulating Ice Forecast

There is a slight risk of freezing rain around the Tri-Cities.

The combination of freezing rain and accumulating ice along with strong winds is very concerning for power outages around Mid-Michigan.

Snowfall totals will range from 4 to 8 inches along the I-69 Corridor; 6 to 10 inches around the Thumb, Tri-Cities region and communities to the north; 6 to 12 inches north of the Tri-Cities and east of I-75.

    Snowfall Totals Forecast

There will be intense snowfall at times Tuesday morning creating poor visibility and driving conditions; slick roads should be expected for the morning commute, especially for the I-69 Corridor and Thumb where freezing rain is likely.

There will be strong winds Tuesday morning which will complicate the morning commute with blowing snow, but they will subside for the afternoon.

We will see the winds strengthen again Tuesday night and for all of Wednesday; this will be the time when power outages are the most likely to occur.
