BAY CITY -- Management at the Washington Lanes Complex were putting finishing touches on the Empire Room before it opens for business Friday.
Matt deHeus, venue manager says, "We're going to feature music in this room some of it more traditional acoustic music as well as other American styles and maybe some jazz and country music, Celtic music possibly."
The live music venue had been closed for years, but is reopening just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
"We have the juke box stocked with Irish songs," said deHeus.
The 43,000 square-foot building on Washington Street Downtown Bay City houses bowling, Striker Sports Bar and the Dogg Houze restaurant.
The Washington Lanes Complex also has a banquet room and commercial kitchen available for rent.
The Empire Room, which has been around since the 1950's, is back to offer a unique twist.
deHeus says, "What's old is new again a little bit young people are spinning vinyl again. You hear styles of music coming back and this place has a cool vibe it has a retro vibe and it fits really well with what we see happening around town."
The grand opening for the Empire Room is Friday, March 17, 2017.
