Strong storms possible Monday afternoon


Showers and thunderstorms are likely to build across the region Monday afternoon.

After our dry start, rain will likely begin to arrive mainly after 1pm and expanding across the state around 2pm.

Showers and storms should continue through about 6pm to 7pm before calming and drying overnight.

Thunderstorms are possible to reach strong to near severe stage with a Marginal risk of severe weather issued by the Storm Prediction Center.

Strong winds up to 60mph, frequent lightning, large hail and isolated flooding are possible in the strongest storms.

Winds would be the main risk with an ability to cause power outages.
