SAGINAW, Mich-- The NAACP of Saginaw is remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's legacy on the anniversary of his assassination.

Both the first and second Vice President of the organization say the civil rights leader impacted them personally and inspired the work they do today.

Saginaw NAACP Vice President Terry Pruitt said as a member of the corporate world at Dow in Midland , he was able to meet both King's wife and daughter while planning tributes, giving him a real perspective on his life.

Although strides have been made because of King's work, Saginaw NAACP third Vice President, Carl Williams says there are still issues with unemployment voter suppression and equality in the justice system.
