May is the time to start getting your green thumb ready in mid-Michigan
FRANKENLUST TOWNSHIP-- Spring has sprung, but the weather still hasn't completely caught up in mid-Michigan. We spoke to the staff at Begick Nursery who say gardeners should wait about two more weeks to start planting their annuals.
They say right now is the perfect time to start cleaning up your flower beds and making sure your soil is nutrient rich. If you can wait to start planting experts tell us that trees and shrubs are fine to put in the ground right now.
This is also the time to start thinking about Mother's Day. The store manager, Ray Schwall says people should think about a potted plant for the holiday. It lasts longer than cut flowers and will be enjoyed the whole summer. For more information you can visit the Begick website or use their app.
