Delta college president meets with residents, NAACP before construction begins in Saginaw

SAGINAW, Mich. --Delta College ready to make a new home in downtown Saginaw.

The college president met with members of the community as well as the Saginaw NAACP to answer questions.

The specific location for this new facility is what has many people intrigued.

The new downtown center will be off Genesee and Franklin and will offer a bus stop right in front of the new building.

The college is really trying to make this new downtown center accessible to all students.

General education classes will be offered to students being able to complete an associate’s degree all at this new downtown location.

Delta College president Doctor Jean Goodnow says they are hoping to reach local graduating seniors, dual enrollment students which are those high schoolers hoping to get ahead by taking college classes early, and those individuals who may have had to leave school for whatever reason.

Construction for the center is anticipated to being finished in March 2018.

The first courses will be offered in the fall of 2019.
