BAY CITY, Mich. – Consumers Energy donated a brand new hot water boiler to the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.

Crews could be seen removing the old boiler and replacing it with a more energy efficient one Tuesday.

Consumers Energy says this will really help the rescue mission save more money on utility bills now.

"Those are energy efficient, they're 94 percent energy efficient versus their old ones which were 81 percent energy efficient so it's going to save them quite a bit of money over the course of the year, possibly in excess of $5,000 and so then they can take that money and put it where it’s really important for their clients,” said Debra Dodd of Consumers.

Consumer's Energy says they expect the installation to be completed by the end of the week.
