SAGINAW, Mich. - The Diocese of Saginaw has new information regarding Francis M. Landwermeyer, a former Jesuit priest who served as principal of Nouvel Catholic Central High School.

Information received Wednesday states that he was at the Saginaw school from 1985 to 1988 and was credibly accused of multiple allegations of sexual abuse toward minors.

Landwermeyer was removed from ministry in 2010 and then left the Jesuit order and priesthood in 2011 before dying in 2018.

The diocese does not have any additional information nor did they previously know about the abuse that took place.

Landwermeyer’s name will be added to the diocese website of names of clergy accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

The diocese says the office of the Attorney General has all the clergy files and they do not have any other information regarding other priests who may have served in the diocese.

The diocese encourages anyone who has an allegation or information regarding sexual abuse by a priest or other church personnel to contact the Attorney General’s office at 844-324-3374.
