5th annual Genesee County Pizza Throwdown fundraiser

    FLINT, Mich. -- A popular mid-Michigan fundraiser is back.

    The 5th Annual Greater Genesee County Pizza Throwdown is planned for Thursday, November 8.

    A ticket gets you unlimited slices from nine local vendors.

    Captain's Quarter's, Enzo's Pizza, Funky Dogs Pizza & Pasta Company, Guido's Premium Pizza, Huckleberry Junction, Hungry Howie's, Kicker's Pizza & More, Little, Caesars, and Twins Pizza & Grill are participating in the all-you-can-eat event.

    Doors open at Faithway Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. Pizza will be served from 6-8 p.m.

    Last year, more than 500 people came out to raise money for the Faithway Christian Academy scholarship fund.

    Organizers also promise a silent auction and dessert sales.

    While there, you can vote for the best pizza in Genesee County. Guido's Premium Pizza was the 2017 winner and is looking to defend its title.

    Six "celebrity judges" will also vote on specialty pizzas throughout the evening. NBC25 & FOX66 Meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey on the panel.

    "Woe is me -- having to test all those different pizzas. It's going to be hard to choose," Ahmad says.
