NBC25 and FOX66 announced back in May that a new playground is coming to Flint's Berston Field House.

That dream was one step closer on Wednesday as the ground was leveled for the big build to begin.

The Make an Impact Foundation and the United Way are both part of this $100,000 project in the heart of Flint.

"We have quite a few kids in our neighborhood here that will have easy access and their parents actually be able to come down and watch. They can play basketball or sit in the picnic area," said Lynne Peterson from Friends of Berston.

Some of the NBC 25 and FOX 66 staff will be joining the crew on September 16 to help construct the playground.
