Sharisse joined the NBC 25/FOX 66 news team in January 2016 as a reporter. She brings five years of media experience to the team, working both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Sharisse didn't have to travel far to get to Flint. Originally from Oakland County, Sharisse was born in Detroit and grew up in Southfield in Oakland County.
Sharisse is a graduate of Michigan State University, and studied abroad in New Zealand for a semester. After graduating from college she started her career as a reporter and anchor at the NBC affiliate in the mountains of Bluefield, West Virginia. It was definitely a culture shock! After nearly two years in the Mountain State, Sharisse headed further south to join WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia as a reporter. Eventually Sharisse started to feel the "pull" of the Midwest. In 2013 she put the microphone down, and moved back to Michigan. Once home she landed a freelance writer position at WJBK FOX 2 in Detroit. She also filled in on the assignment desk.
Sharisse is excited about telling great stories in Flint, and being back in front of the camera. Outside of the newsroom she enjoys traveling, baking, reading, photography and going back home to visit family and friends. You can get to know Sharisse by following her on social media or emailing her a story idea.
