Sadie Hughes joined the NBC25/FOX66 news team in September of 2014.
She anchors the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts weeknights on NBC25 and the 10:00p.m. newscast weeknights on FOX 66.
Sadie has received and been nominated for multiple journalism awards, including eleven regional Emmy nominations for her anchoring and reporting. Most recently, in 2017, she received the "Best in Category" award from the Michigan Broadcasters Association for her anchoring and the 2016 "Best in Category Award" for her reporting. She also received a "Best in Category" award in 2016 for hosting in Special Programming. She was named Iowa's best anchor in 2011 by the Iowa Broadcast News Association and was named among the state's top anchors/reporters several times during her time in Iowa.
Sadie is originally from Broomfield, Colorado. She received degrees in business marketing and broadcast journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder where she graduated with distinction. She comes to Mid-Michigan with a diverse background in broadcast. Prior to her stop in Flint, she was a weekend anchor/reporter at KGAN/KFXA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She started her career as an anchor/reporter/editor/producer at Denver's 850 KOA Radio. She then served as both a morning and evening anchor in St. George, Utah. Sadie also has experience behind the scenes. She spent time producing, web editing and reporting at CBS4 in Denver, Colorado.
When she isn't at work, Sadie loves spending time with her husband, Kit, their son, Koa, their standard poodle, Macy, and their two cats, Knox and Dolly. She's a workout addict and enjoys finding new ways to exercise.
