Path to Greatness: Brenden McRill's toughness setting tone for future
Davison senior Brenden McRill signed his letter of intent to wrestle at West Virginia University last week, another huge step on his path to a successful future. His first love was football, something he's starred in the past few seasons as a Cardinal, but in 5th Grade, he took up wrestling. He enjoyed the WWE, and still does, but then realized it was a sport that he not only loved, but that he could excel in.
He won the Division 1 State Title at 189 pounds as a junior, and hopes not only to win another individual state title this season, but a team title as well, something he hasn't won in his years at Davison, coming up in second twice.
Beyond his career, he hopes to coach someday at the college level, and has already started with local youth wrestling programs, and even on his own team as well.
