HTH GOW Preview: Unbeaten Bridgeport, Freeland set to battle

The Hometown Hoops Game of the Week features a Tri-Valley Conference Crossover between Bridgeport and Freeland. At 9-0, it's the Bearcats best start since 2012, when they finished the season an impressive 20-2. Freeland is also at 9-0, and beat Bridgeport in the 2016 District opener by three points.

Third-year Bridgeport head coach Eugene Seals is seeing his philosophies learned from playing at Mid-Michigan power Saginaw High is starting to sink in for his squad.

"The biggest thing has been getting the guys to work out the same way we did at Saginaw High," he says. "A lot of times they come to this league, they don't think they'll be able to do what we do and now they're starting to believe it.

On the other side, Freeland is preparing for Bridgeport's pressure, saying the most important thing this week is the basketball.

""They pressure the ball so we gotta keep down the the turnovers," senior point guard Zac Anderson says. "We gotta get back on defense, they go a lot in transition so that's probably the main thing."
