John Glenn, Hemlock, Heritage and Midland look to continue state tournament runs Tuesday

The state tournament continues for six Mid-Michigan baseball teams, six softball teams and four girls soccer teams this week.


John Glenn baseball is in the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2012, and after playing a tough schedule are hoping to make it back to the Final Four. They take on Sault Ste. Marie at 1 p.m. at Central Michigan University on Tuesday.

Hemlock baseball used three double-digit run scoring games to upset state ranked Clare and Pinconning on their way to their third regional title in program history. They'll take on Caro, who beat them in extra innings earlier in the season, at SVSU at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.


Heritage baseball is firing on all cylinders right now, and will take on Grand Haven at 4 p.m. at Central Michigan on Tuesday.

Midland softball is still finding ways to win, their comebacks guiding them to their third straight regional title. They'll take on Grandville at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Central Michigan University.

Unionville Sebewaing baseball takes on Royal Oak at 5 p.m. at Grand Blanc, while the 2-time defending Division 4 champs USA softball team will also play at 5 p.m. in Grand Blanc, taking on Ottawa Lake.

In Division 2, the Corunna baseball team will take on Chelsea at Howell at 4 p.m., while the Powers softball team will play Ida at Howell at 4:30 p.m. Also in Division 2, Escanaba will play Swan Valley softball at 4 p.m. at CMU.

Millington and Shepherd softball will square off in Division 3 at 3 p.m. at SVSU.

In Girls soccer, Linden plays Bloomfield Hills in a Division 2 semifinal at 7 p.m. at Meadows Stadium in Novi, and in Division 3 semifinals, Freeland takes on Hudsonville Unity Christian at 6 p.m. at Cedar Springs, while Powers Catholic plays Ida at 4:30 p.m. at Howell.

The Grand Blanc girls soccer team plays on Wednesday, taking on Utica Ford at 7 p.m at Rochester Hills Stoney Creek.
