Flushing, Freeland, Hamady, MLS and Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart headin' to the Breslin
Five Mid-Michigan girls basketball teams are heading to the State Semifinals at the Breslin Center this week.
In Class A, Flushing punched their first ticket to the State Semifinals in four decades with a 59-28 victory over Macomb Dakota. The Raiders will take on Warren Cousino in the Breslin Center on Friday at 1 p.m.
In Class B, Freeland continued their perfect season, beating Cadillac 53-38. They'll take on Ypsilanti Arbor Prep in the semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in East Lansing.
In Class C, even without Krystal Rice, who suffered a season-ending injury midway through the season, the Hamady Hawks beat Hemlock 37-28. Keith Smith taking his team into his 7th Final Four against Detroit Edison Public School Academy on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Breslin Center.
In Class D, MLS beat Waterford Our Lady 56-48 and Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart took down Frankfort 48-37 to advance to the State Semifinals. MLS takes on Engadine on Thursday at 6 p.m., while the Irish will play Pittsford at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday as well.
