FNF: Week 5 Big Scores, Big Hits, Big Games

We've reached the half-way point of the 2016 high school football season and the cream is starting to rise to the toop starting with our Game of the Week where Millington and Frankenmuth rekindled their decades old rivalry. Both team came into the gam unbeaten and highliy ranked but it was Frankenmuth coming away with th win for the second year in a row. It was a tight game throughout the first half but the Eagles broke it open in the third quarter as Jared Davis burroughed his way into the end zone for the 1-yard touchdown run. Frankemuth improves to 5-0 on the season, the Cardinals fall to 4-1.

Midland Dow took on Powers Catholic in a Saginaw Valley Blue tilt to find out who was the more powerful Charger. At half-time the debate had been setteled as Midland Dow led 21-0, and in the third quarter they padded their lead courtesy of two touchdown passes from Bruce Mann and Dow wins a laugher 41-0.

Grand Blanc came into the week riding a four game winning streak as they hosted Brighton, the team that handed them their first loss of the season last year. The Bobcats wanted to avoid a repeat of that scenario at all costs and they were up in the game late but a fourth quarter score by Brighton put them over the top and they held one for the one point win, 20-19.

Vassar and Reese have been two of the better teams out in the Thumb in 2016 but the Rockets knocked off the Vulcans 49-12. Watch the highlights right here!
