If you want to see the Northern Lights, you may have a good opportunity Sunday night.

A strong solar flare has sent a burst of electromagnetic energy toward the earth.

The result for us in Michigan will be a chance to see the beautiful Northern Lights (also known as the Aurora Borealis) Sunday night into Monday morning.

Everyone in Michigan will have a shot to see them, but the chance increases the farther north you go.

Right now it appears clouds will clear by Sunday evening, allowing us to see the lights.

If you want to try see them, you can go outside after it gets dark and look north.

Your best bet is to go to a rural area and get away from city light pollution.
