Detroit-area woman charged in boyfriend's fatal shooting
PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — A Detroit-area woman who called 911 to report the fatal shooting of her 36-year-old boyfriend has been charged in his slaying.
The Oakland County sheriff's office says Marita Talley was arraigned Tuesday on first-degree murder and gun charges.
William Bell's body was found Friday on a sofa in the couple's Pontiac home, northwest of Detroit. A handgun and spent shell casings were found near Bell's body. Talley was arrested at the home.
The sheriff's office says Talley's criminal history includes assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny in a building and assaulting a prison employee. She served time in prison and was discharged from parole in 2016.
It was not clear if Talley was represented Tuesday by an attorney. She was ordered held without bond pending a May 24 court appearance.
