Former bus driver pleads guilty to sexual assault

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The bus driver accused of sexually assaulting a student has agreed to a plea deal.

Larry Beutler, 66 of Buckley, was arrested on Oct. 24, 2017. Beutler was charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct - second degree and two charges of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.

Beutler was an employee of Dean Transportation and has since been fired.

Traverse City Police Officers said the victim was a minor and the incident happened three times on the bus.

Beutler pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.

With the plea deal, the three criminal sexual conduct charges will be dropped at sentencing.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 9.
