Grand Blanc High School forced into secure mode due to threat made ahead of walkout
GRAND BLANC, Mich. --Grand Blanc High School was placed into secure mode Wednesday morning before a school-wide walkout event was scheduled to take place due to a threat, according to a release from the City of Grand Blanc Police Department.
The school resource officer received information from a student that “someone would get hurt” if the walkout took place.
The officer then informed the principal, and it was decided that it would be in everyone’s best interest to put the school into secure mode and not allow the students out of school.
The Grand Blanc Police Department and Grand Blanc Community Schools said they respected students’ rights to peacefully protest, but wanted to make sure they were safe from harm.
