Superintendent notifies school board of his 'inappropriate relationship'
CLARKSTON, Mich. -- Dr. Rod Rock, a superintendent for Clarkston Community Schools, voluntarily notified the Board of Education last week about what he called an "inappropriate relationship" he recently had with a Clarkston High School graduate.
Rock said it started as a friendship and become inappropriate after the student graduated.
That student is now 19-years-old.
Rock felt this incident compromised his ability to effectively serve as superintendent.
The board sent a letter to parents saying there will be a full investigation and they are respecting the former student's privacy.
The board has also hired Deputy Superintendent Shawn Ryan to serve as interim superintendent of schools.
