Students release salmon in Tuscola County

A group of Tuscola County students released Chinook salmon into the wild Sunday.

From salmon eggs in the classroom to real live fish.

A group of Tuscola County students released them into the wild Sunday.

They put the 120 Chinook salmon in a ditch about a half mile south of the Saginaw Bay.

The students started this project at Akron-Fairgrove junior high back in November.

It's all part of a Michigan DNR learning program.

Andrew Hoffman, who teaches at the school says he hopes the DNR will allow the students to participate in another salmon release program again next year.
