Saginaw Spirit announces Troy Smith as new head coach
SAGINAW, Mich. - When the Saginaw Spirit take the ice for training camp there will be a new face behind the bench, and someone who is well versed in everything related to the Ontario Hockey League.
The Saginaw Spirit announcing their new head coach for the upcoming 2017-18 season, Troy Smith.
Smith spent the last two years as the associate coach of the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs.
Prior to that, the 39-year-old spent nine years in Kitchner in a variety of roles with the Rangers.
The first time head coach has enjoyed a lot of success coaching and hope to bring his track record of winning to Saginaw, starting day one of camp.
Training camp starts August 28, and the regular season on September 21st.
