Runners lace up for Michigan Mile Race Series ahead of Crim

FLINT, Mich. -The 41st Crim Festival of Races officially stepped it up into high gear Friday night.

Over the next few hours, thousands of people will be heading to downtown Flint to race towards the finish line on Saginaw Street.

The Michigan Mile Race Series got underway as the Michigan Special Olympic athletes ran in the Lois Craig Invitational.

While family members, church groups and strangers hold up signs and as you can hear cheer their loved on from the sidelines.

The runners were excited to be a part of the legendary Crim races and even more thrilled to be in the first race of the weekend.

Both experienced and first time runners had a good time participating in the race.
