Police searching for man who robbed Speedway gas station in Imlay City
IMLAY CITY, Mich. - Police are searching for a suspect involved in a robbery at the Speedway gas station on the 1900 block of Cedar Street in Imlay City.
The robbery took place on Monday, Dec. 18 around 2:30 a.m.
Police say the suspect entered the Speedway gas station at Cedar Street and Newark road with his face covered.
Police say the suspect handed the cashier a plastic grocery bag and demanded money. The clerk placed an undisclosed amount of cash into the bag. Police say the suspect then demanded money from the other cash registers and the clerk told the suspect they would have to go into the back room. The suspect fled the scene and was last seen running east from the store.
The suspect is described as a white male approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. The suspect was wearing a black mask, possibly a t-shirt with eye holes cut in it.
According to police, it is believed the suspect may have parked in the Lucky’s restaurant parking lot and fled in a vehicle from that location.
