FLINT, Mich. --Mott Community College has received a $3 million grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.

Much of the grant money will help MCC expand their Early Childhood Learning Center.

The college plans to add four new classroom spaces to accommodate infants, toddlers and transition-aged youth, in addition to modernizing and updating their pre-k classrooms.

The college is also planning to renovate and re-purpose sections of the former Woodside Church to create a new Family Life Center.

Family Life Center services will include relocating Ellen's Closet and the new Mott Eats Food Pantry to the facility, and adding computer stations and Mott staff who will provide students and their families with access to community human services, nonprofit information, and service referrals.

Additional support services will be added to the Family Life Center as the project unfolds.
