Flint Police say a 41-year-old man is in critical condition after he hit a curb in school parking lot.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. in the area of East North Parkway and North Street.

The man was initially spotted by Michigan State Trooper 3 while flying over the city.

Police say the man was originally driving the ATV in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Pierson Road.

The trooper continued to put out the location of the ATV, and police found the man driving at high rates of speed in a residential zone while pedestrians were walking around.

Police tried to stop the driver, but he was a considerable distance ahead.

The man continued into an abandoned school property, hit a curb and lost control the ATV.

Police say he was then thrown from and run over by the ATV.

He was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

Police say alcohol and speeds were factors in the crash, and that the ATV was reported stolen out of Richfield Township.
