Man arraigned after killing his 91-year-old stepfather

FLINT, Mich. --Sixty-one-year-old William Moore is facing multiple charges after shooting and killing his stepfather, 91-year-old Richard Adams.

The shooting took place Saturday, June 91 at Adams’ home on Miller Road in Swartz Creek.

Moore has been arraigned and charged with the following:

  • Open murder
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Fleeing police, third degree
  • Resisting and obstructing police causing injury, two counts
  • Possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle
  • Felony firearms, five counts

According to police reports, Moore went to Adams’ home and killed Adams.

Moore’s mother spotted her son’s car at her house and given her son’s known potential for violence, she called police.

Adams was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds when police arrived.

After shooing Adams, Moore left the house and went across the street to the Krogers parking lot.

Moore then led officers on a brief chase, but was then taken into custody.

Moore is currently being held in the Genesee County Jail.
