Law enforcement teams up with Saginaw County Animal Care and Control to keep animals safe
SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. --It's a new effort to fight animal abuse in Saginaw County.
Saginaw County Animal Care and Control is now teaming up with both local and state law enforcement, to help save animals from being put in harm’s way.
In February, the shelter started a coalition and say they got support from Michigan State Police, the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office and the police chiefs association, as well as local veterinarians.
Police say oftentimes they hit roadblocks because they don't have anywhere to take the animals, or have vets available to help with the investigations.
Saginaw County Animal Care and Control is raising money now to help with building a new facility to house more animals by selling calendars for $15.
The calendars feature first responders and animals.
