SAGINAW, Mich. - Some Saginaw police officers have been making their rounds in various neighborhoods, delivering backpacks and school supplies to kids.

K-9 officer Brad Holp brought his K-9 Cigan along, hoping to get kids excited for the start of school. But even more than that, he said, his mission was to get them ready to learn.

"It feels great knowing that all the money I've spent on school supplies... knowing that other families don't have the money to do that and being able to give this stuff to them gives me an overall good feeling," said Holp.

A number of the kids we talked to said they didn't have a backpack, let alone all of their school supplies, so they said they appreciate the officer's kind gesture.
