Genesee County mental health resource unveils new location
FLINT, Mich. - People in Genesee County suffering from mental illness now have another location to get help.
NAMI of Genesee County showed off its newest building on West Fifth Street in Flint Wednesday.
The agency has been in Genesee County 34 years and helps people and families suffering from mental illness.
People were able to register for upcoming classes.
The facilities director says it's important to get out in the community and let people know what they are all about.
"That awareness is key, coming out into the community and talking about mental health, talking about it is important so it’s not scary anymore and we can break down that stigma,” said NAMI president Brandi Britton.
People also had the opportunity Wednesday to talk to the board of directors and learn more about services available.
