Flint Township Police investigating stranger danger incidents

FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Flint Township Police have arrested 54-year-old William Engle and charged him with Criminal Sexual Conduct – Fourth Degree, Indecent Exposure, and Indecent Exposure by Sexually Delinquent Person.

Investigators say on Friday July 14, 2017, at approximately 1:30 pm the Flint Township Police Department responded to several complaints regarding a suspicious male subject.

Officers responded to the complaints in the retail district of S. Linden Rd. and Miller Rd., as well as a subdivision in the area of Corunna Rd. and S. Dye Rd.

Police say suspect’s behavior was described as suspicious, and in several occasions, his comments and actions were directed toward minors.

Investigators developed a description of the man and his vehicle and found the car and Engle in the parking lot of a retail outlet in the area of Miller Rd. and Curtis Dr. at approximately 4:25 pm.

Engle, from Harrisville, Michigan, was driving a blue, 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 conversion van.

Flint Township investigators sat that Engle has prior convictions of similar offenses.

Investigators believe Engle departed Harrisville earlier in the week and traveled to the Battle Creek area and then traveled to Flint Township where the alleged incidents occurred.

Engle is currently lodged at the Genesee County Jail.

Investigators say Engle may have committed similar offenses in his travels throughout Michigan.
