While there were four candidates who threw their names in for the third ward seat, Santino Guerra made it through Tuesday’s primary election with strong results.
The 19-year-old pre-law student is challenging Kerry Nelson for the third ward seat.
Guerra grew up in the northeast end of Flint.
And based on the numbers so far, the people seem to like the teenager.
New candidates are running for all the seats on Flint City Council.
All but one of the incumbents made it through the election on Tuesday night.
Vicki Van Buren is the only current one who didn't, she was one vote short.
In a little less than three months, voters will head to the polls again for the general election.
