Mount Morris Fire Chief Hillerman confirmed that no one was hurt after a motor home caught on fire Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 2 p.m. on northbound I-75 between the Clio and Mount Morris road exits.

Two lanes of traffic were blocked, causing a bit of a backup on the highway so that police and fire crews could investigate.

Chief Hillerman says the motor home had been recently purchased, and that the cause of the fire is unknown, other than the driver reporting to have heard a loud pop and seeing antifreeze leaking.

After the driver noticed the leak, he went back to get his belongings and wallet.

Chief Hillerman said the man had t exit the motor home through a window because of heavy smoke.
