Emergency workers, community members come together to move Flint forward
FLINT, Mich. --A group of people in Flint came together Saturday to shine a light on the toll of violence in the city.
The group met in the newly restored Fleming Park on the city’s north side.
Flint Police officers and firefighters, along with Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies all met with residents in a relaxed atmosphere to talk over their differences and try to move the city forward.
Flint City Councilwoman Jacqueline Poplar says more need to be done to give young people in the city more opportunities to get involved in activities that will help to lead them on the right path.
