Crim training kicks off
FLINT, Mich. —
Strangers are coming together to make Flint a more vibrant and fit community.
The annual Crim race is months away, but tonight, many began training.
There was also an introduction session for runners to give participants time to organize their groups and put together their training schedules.
Many were complete pros and have been participating in the Crim for years. But for others, like Serinna Vaneckhoutte, it was their first time joining in on the fun.
"I turned 30 this year and I feel old," Vaneckhoutte said. "I did a 5k for my mom in April, so I thought if I could do a 5k, why not do the 10 mile."
The race is not until August, but groups will be practicing weekly up until the big race day.
