3-alarm fire damages historic Fenton Hotel

The Fenton Hotel was packed for Easter Sunday brunch when a fire started.

Fire crews from Mundy Township, Linden, and North Oakland County spent hours assisting the City of Fenton Fire Department to put the fire out at the 161-year-old building on North Leroy Street.

Fire officials said employees started to smell smoke around 2 p.m. Sunday and called 911.

Multiple parts of the hotel were damaged. The roof, kitchen and cooler saw the majority of fire and water damage.

The dining area has some smoke damage.
