100,000 pounds of food collected in an effort to Stamp Out Hunger in Genesee County
FLINT, Mich. --The United States Postal Service joined in the fight against hunger by stamping it out.
Postal workers in Flint and throughout Michigan joined the nationwide effort.
Postal workers left empty bags and boxes at peoples’ homes earlier in the week.
They were collected Saturday, and will be taken to local post offices and sorted.
From there, the food will be taken to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Food bank workers say 100,000 pounds of food was collected.
