Two Mid-Michigan organizations dedicated to helping veterans join forces to bring the 1st Warrior Bowl Competition.

Warrior Outdoors Michigan is a non-profit aiding veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The group has partnered with It Takes A Warrior, a crisis response group working to raise that will go toward both organizations.

"It Takes A Warrior steps in immediately and helps people with what they need," says Ryan Hageness with Warrior Outdoor Michigan.

"I'm then able to take those people out on outdoor activities. We have each other to bond and you can definitely see the healing," says Hageness.

"I did deploy overseas and saw some things that were hard to forget, hard to shake. I know what people who maybe suffering from that maybe feeling and I want them to know that there's nothing wrong with them and there's ways to get help."

Brent Mason, who served from 2000 to 2008, says he started his company, Veterans Owned Apparel, to help veterans.

"We wanted to find a way to give back and what better way to do that than through these two organizations," says Mason.

The Warrior Bowl Competition will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Stardust Lanes located at 3750 Bay Road in Saginaw Township.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $50 and includes bowling and food.
