Flint, Mich-- May is Foster Care Awareness Month and the Ennis Center for Children is sharing its mission to preserve families when possible and create new families when necessary.

Ennis Center serves more than 3,500 families in Genesee, Oakland, Wayne and St. Clair Counties. The staff provides several programs including foster care, behavioral health and youth assistance.

Right now there are at least 40 children that need to be place in foster care in Genesee County alone. Ennis Center for Children CEO, Robert Ennis says they are desperately looking for foster parents.

"We are looking for dedicated caring individuals 18 or older that are willing to be trained and work with these children to be a positive influence in their lives," said Ennis.
