Grand Blanc Township Mich-- Grace Bible Church Pastor, Angel Garcia has friends and family in Puerto Rico who are currently living through the devastation that Hurricane Maria caused.

Even though his loved ones are going through major hardship including lack of water, food and electricity, he says his family and friends are encouraging him to stay strong.

"They're encouraging me. They are just like don't worry about it, Puerto Rico will rise again," said Garcia.

Their inspirational words are inspiring action here in Michigan. Right now Garcia is working with seven local organizations to create the Flint Relief Action Group.

Members are networking across the country to raise money and eventually send relief to the island.

"Some of the committees that we have are for refugees. We expect a lot of people to be leaving the island and they'll need a place to stay," said FRAG member, Roxanna Duntley-Matos.

Eventually members hope to go to Puerto Rico to volunteer, but right now they are doing what they can from right at home.
