Beecher schools hold back to school rally, resource fair
FLINT, Mich. - Beecher Community Schools were holding a back to school rally and resource fair Thursday.
Along with celebrating the start of school, which is next week, the event gave families the chance to learn about programs and resources available through the district that will help students.
There was also plenty of time for fun!
"We host this event annually so that we can make sure to meet the community, let the community come out and meet us, and just enjoy ourselves,” said Beecher High School Principal Diana Castle.
The district announced two new programs this year.
The ‘Buc Promise’ program gives high school students the opportunity to earn an associate's degree for free while attending high school.
The second program, ‘Buc Start’ helps kindergartners that aren't quite yet ready for school get prepared.
The first day of classes for students is next Monday.
